Privacy policy

Security
We have taken appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect against loss and other forms of unlawful processing of your personal data (e-mail address). The data is sent via a secure connection and stored in a secure database.

Privacy declaration
We place great value on your privacy. Want to know how we handle your personal data?

We only process personal data to the extent necessary for providing information and advice about safe internet use and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. Below we explain what information we collect, for what purposes, how we get it, what your rights are, and how you can exercise them.

Personal data and purposes of data processing
In order to offer a good and personal tailored service, we need some information from you. Below you can read what happens to this data after you have given it to us.

  • Newsletter registration

You can subscribe to our newsletter on the website. For this you leave your name and address. This data is stored on our website, the mail server of our hosting party (Brendly Amsterdam) and at Mailchimp (the application we use to send newsletters). We only use the service for which you have given permission, for example receiving the newsletter. If we think that certain services may be of interest to you, we may also use this information to notify you. We do not provide this information to third parties, for example for commercial purposes.

The data will be saved until you unsubscribe from our newsletter. This can be done via the link that is always included at the bottom of the newsletter or by sending an email to info@zonnestraal.nl with the comment “unsubscribe from the newsletter”.

  • Asking questions or leaving comments

On the website you can ask a question or leave a comment. If you do this via a form, then you leave your name and address. This data is stored on our website and the mail server of our hosting party (Brendly Amsterdam). We only use this information to answer your question or to respond.

Your data is stored on our site and server for one year. If you want this information to be deleted earlier, please send us an email (info@zonnestraal.nl) with this request.

We can provide you with insights into the data stored on our website and the server at any time.

Traffic data
Traffic data has to do with registering an IP address, installing a cookie, registering click behaviour and analysing your navigation on our website. With traffic data we analyse surfing behaviour of our visitors. We look at how the navigation is used and which pages are visited, so that we can use this to improve the familiarity, functionality and content of our site (and digital newsletters).

Cookies are used on our website. A cookie is a small file that is sent along with the pages of our website and is stored by the browser on the hard drive of your computer. The information stored therein can be sent back to our servers on a subsequent visit.

When you visit our website for the first time, or during repeated visits after you have removed the cookies, a message will be displayed (cookie agreement or cookie consent) informing you about the cookies we use. The moment you click further on our website, you give us permission to use all cookies and plug-ins as described in this privacy and cookie statement, depending on the chosen settings. You are free to disable cookies through your browser. Keep in mind that it is possible that our website will no longer work optimally.

If you give us permission via the cookie settings, cookies from the following applications are used:

  • Google Analytics

We have no control over what the provider of the above application does with the cookies itself. For more information about these applications and how they handle cookies, please see the privacy statements of this party (note: these may change regularly).

Special personal data
We do not use so-called Special Personal Data. Our website does not intend to collect data about website visitors under the age of 16 unless they have the consent of parents or guardian. However, we cannot check whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in the online activities of their children, to prevent data about children being collected without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal information about a minor without that permission, please contact us by e-mail and we will remove this information.

We do not take decisions on the basis of automated processing on matters that may have (significant) consequences for individuals.

Identity data
We process identity data for sending out newsletters. Below you will find an overview of the identity data that we process:

  • Name
  • Mail address
  • Topic about question / response (if applicable)
  • Question / reaction that is asked (if applicable)

When you register for the newsletter, your email address can be used for marketing purposes, but only for our company.

Payment details
We do not process payments on our website.
Retention period

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe from the newsletter or let us know by e-mail.
  • Questions and reactions: one year after this information has been left on the site or until you request that we delete this information by email.
  • Cookies: this data is stored by us for a longer period of time, but never longer than necessary for carrying out activities. In principle, your data is stored until you take action yourself.

Processors that receive your data
The personal data we receive is also processed by and stored on the servers of the companies below:

  • Brendly (host website)
  • Mailchimp (newsletter)
  • Google (analytical user data)

In the necessary cases, processor agreements have been established for this. In the case of Mailchimp and Google, this may mean that your data will be stored outside the EU. Both parties are certified for this through the EU-US Privacy Shield.

Rights
You have the right to inspect, the right to rectification, the right to submit a complaint through the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the right to transfer and the right to stop us using data. For this you can contact us by e-mail or telephone. You can only exercise these rights via e-mail. To ensure that the request for inspection has been made by you, we request that you send a copy of your proof of identity with the request. Make a copy of your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and citizen service number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to this request as quickly as possible, but within four weeks. We would also like to point out that you have the option to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Security
No physical copies are made of your personal data. Your data is only managed in the aforementioned systems and software from us and from the aforementioned processors. The devices that we use to access your data are each also protected with security software, a password and / or fingerprint. The number of devices that have access to your data is limited to only the required devices.

Our contact forms are secured. The pages are protected with a secure SSL connection, so your data is sent encrypted and it is impossible for third parties to view this data. You can check the security by right-clicking on the relevant page and choosing “Properties”. You now get a window with the connection information. “Connection” states that it is an SSL connection.

Data breaches where personal data is at risk should be, if possible within 72 hours, reported to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. If that fails, an explanation will be given for the delay. Both the nature of the infringement and recommendations about how potential negative consequences can be limited must be reported to the person(s) involved and to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. The obligation to report does not apply if it is unlikely that the infringement entails a high risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons.

Other
Our website(s) may contain third-party advertisements or links to other sites that are not under our control. Including links to other sites also does not imply approval from us with regard to the content of such sites.

If, after reading this privacy statement, you still have questions about protecting your privacy during visits to our website, please feel free to contact us in writing, by telephone or by e-mail. We can adjust this privacy statement in the interim if there are developments in areas such as technology, legislation, processing or dispensing. Changes will be announced via this page.
